Chase Gannon!

April 8, 2010 is the day Chase asked me to be his girlfriend! We were riding to my grandmother's house in Chase's truck and he told me he had to ask me a question. So this is how the conversation went...

Chase: "Haley I have to ask you a question."
Haley: "Okay, what is it."
Chase: (really nervous) "You have to guess!"
-well I automatically knew at that point that he was going to ask me to be his girlfriend, but I didn't want to ruin the fun for him!
Haley: "ummmmm I don't know"
-and this back and forth "guess"...."I don't know" thing probably went on for five minutes
Chase: "Well.....I was just going to ask if you want to go out with me?"
-no one really uses the term "go out" anymore, it is kind of a middle school term, so I just wanted to make things clear for the both of us
Haley: "You want me to be your girlfriend?"
Chase: "Yeah!"
Haley: "Okay!"
-and that was it! It was never awkward after that, like you think it would be...it was just normal for us! Chase and I had been talking on the phone and texting each other for about a month before this happened, and we were already so comfortable around each other!

I just wanted to blog about this because I love Chase and our one year anniversary is coming up! So here are some pictures from the past eight months of Chase and I!

In Gatlinburg, Tennessee over the summer!

Obviously, there are tons of pictures from summer, Christmas, and everything else, but these are three of my favorites! I love Chase, and I am so happy to start a new year with him! I wish for many more sweet memories with Chase to come in 2011! And as for our one year anniversary coming up......I wish for many more anniversaries with Chase too!!

D-I-E-T!

Okay, so the holidays got to me....big time! I am no where near my ideal weight, and before the summer of 2011 I am going to lose 20 pounds! As far as diets have gone in the past, well...let's just say I'm not the best at sticking to them. I honestly think if I had a constant motivation, like my blog, I could do it!

To start, what I have been eating lately has to change! NO MORE JUNK FOOD! It is so tempting during the holidays. This is what runs through my head, (Haley, inside the head): "Wow! There is so much food here! Oh my goodness, there are some chips, and some dip, and some fudge, and some ham, and some cake!! I can't just NOT taste all of them!" Yeah, I'm pretty sure that is not a good habit to be forming.

Okay! Here it goes...

PLAN:
1. I am going to drink 88.5 ounces of water a day! or 2.7 liters! YIKES
2. I am going to cut back my portion sizes
3. NO MORE JUNK FOOD or CANDY(which is going to be challenging)
4. Exercise at least three times per week!

MY GOAL:
Lose 20 pounds by May 26!

Let the journey begin!!

A dog named Sadie!

Almost two years ago, I was blessed with a puppy! I already had one dog, named Ellie, who is a jack russell terrier. Ellie was already three years old at this point, so I wanted another "puppy" really bad. That is when Sadie came into the picture! She is a pug/jack russell! This picture was taken when she was about 11 to 12 weeks old.
I could never decide on a name. For a while I would just call her random names!! I can't really remember how I came up with the name Sadie. I was just sitting at the computer one day and it hit me.
Now, almost two years later, Sadie is having to have hip surgery. She can hardly walk around anymore, and when she does she alternates holding up her back left leg, and her back right leg. Ellie, who is almost six years old now, is just as puppy-like as she could ever be, but poor Sadie pretty much has to stay inside all day long. I took this picture of her yesterday.
She is so sweet! I love her! Hopefully her surgery goes well.

Christmas at Jasmine's

Last night Chase and I went and had dinner at Jasmine's house. We ate Pizza Hut that we had delivered, and it was yummmmy! We had so many desserts too, including my pb&j crackers!!
The pizza took a little long to get there, so we went ahead and play dirty santa before we ate!

I got a $15 Cold Stone gift card!!!
Chase got a big bag full of goodies like: candy, and a WalMart gift card!

The party hostess, Jasmine, got a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card!!

My newly engaged friend, Caitlin, got a $10 Chick-fil-A gift card.

Her fiancĂ©e Mark got a $10 BestBuy gift card!

It was a fantastic night, and I had so much fun! After we ate we watched Billy the Exterminator! Great show!!

Christmas with the Stewarts!

This past sunday we had Christmas at my grandmother's house! My mom's sister, Terri, and her husband and kids came down from Mississippi, and we all met at my grandmother's house in Shelby. We ate BBQ, not a traditional Christmas food, but it was amazing! After, we opened gifts!

Here it goes!/Christmas party preparations!

Wooh! (deep breath). I can't believe I am doing this but, I am starting a blog. I figured I wouldn't have much to blog about but I started to think about it, and I think I do. So let's see about today.

Tonight my best friend Jasmine is having a Christmas party for her friends. I made, (and you better brace yourself for this), peanut butter and jelly crackers. I know, sounds a little mysterious, maybe a little nasty, and they are not that pretty, but I think they turned out pretty good.

I know, they look pretty gross, but I tasted one, and they are pretty good! What I did was spread pb&j between two Ritz crackers, then melt peanut butter chips and dip the crackers. I put them in the freezer to harden for about 20 mins. It was a fun experiment! I am excited about the party tonight though! Pizza and dirty santa with my best friends and boyfriend; it couldn't get much better than that!
